Responsibilities

Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities, and prepare schedules.
Assign work based on priorities, difficulty, and employee capabilities.
Evaluate subordinates' work performance and provide feedback.
Interview candidates, make recommendations for appointments, promotions, or reassignments.
Resolve employee complaints, identify training needs, and improve work processes.
Apply management techniques, oversee program objectives, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Required

A degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
Experience that demonstrated management/leadership experience such as applying management techniques, methods, theories, principles, or labor relations concepts for the accomplishment of all program objectives with combined technical and administrative oversight.
Experience applying regulations, other official guidance, and principles, including the latest procedures and techniques sufficient to oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the technical aspects of programs specific to the position being filled.
Experience applying communicative techniques to effectively and diplomatically interact with internal and external customers.
By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment.
