Responsibilities
Plans and performs key engineering assignments concerned with unique or critical problems having a major impact on company programs.
Leads large scope, high business impact packaging projects related to Brand maintenance or expansion, cost saving initiatives, innovative package development, and environment goals.
Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, driving, and coordinating assignments. Determines and coordinates physical testing to ensure product and package integrity for manufacturing through end users.
Leads troubleshooting in the resolution of packaging related issues in manufacturing and the field. Develops recommendations on general packaging guidelines and standards for processes and functional requirements.
Performs packaging projects in compliance with government and corporate guidelines.
Contributes to the company with inventions, new designs, processes, or techniques which are significant to the solution of important problems.
Continually evaluates new packaging solutions and alternatives in order to improve operating efficiency, generate market differentiators, and add sources of revenue.
Participates and provides technical expertise for risk assessment and compliance assurance programs.
Assures delivery of robust, cost-effective, in-compliance packaging solutions that meet current and evolving customers' needs.
Knows and follows all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintains the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and compliance at all times.
Promotes and cultivates the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance and actively supports our compliance program-related initiatives and activities.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualification

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Package Engineering or other relevant degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical Engineering, etc.)
Minimum 6-8 years of relevant work experience
Experience with new product development and commercialization of products in a regulated industry as an engineer
Knowledge of various packaging materials and common packaging systems
Experience as a package development engineer or a strong understanding of the package development process and responsibilities
Experience supporting projects as the technical lead/SME
Proficiency in computers and technology including Microsoft Office applications
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Preferred
Experience within the OTC, Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical industries
Experience working with medical device package development
Knowledge of Package Assembly and Manufacturing processes
Knowledge of sterile barrier packaging systems and design verification including ASTM or ISTA test methods
Knowledge and experience with ISO11607
Understanding of sterilization modes used in medical devices
Project management experience or certification
People leadership experience
Requires International and domestic travel up to 10%
