Responsibilities
Lead and drive complex, cross-functional projects from inception
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and software engineers to translate customer requirements into technical solutions
Develop highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day
Solve complex software systems problems using state-of-the-art technology
Design and implement REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
Design relational database schemas and optimize SQL queries
Utilize Java Hibernate and optimize data access with Hibernate
Utilize Docker and Cloud providers for deploying applications and services
Tech lead projects and mentor junior engineers
Write technical design documents to communicate implementation plans

Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area
5 years' experience in software engineering or related area
3+ years' experience of software development w/ a bias towards backend technologies
Extensive experience designing and implementing REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
Experience designing relational database schemas as well as implementing and optimizing SQL queries
Experience utilizing Java Hibernate and optimizing data access with Hibernate
Experience with Docker and utilizing Cloud providers to deploy application and services
Experience tech leading projects and mentoring more junior engineers
Experience writing technical design documents to communicate implementation plans
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining in creating accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture
Previous experience in the advertising domain
Advanced knowledge of performance, scalability, and system architecture with an eye toward avoiding and reducing technical debt
Strong inclination towards exploring and learning new technologies
