Responsibilities
Leading the planning and implementation for connecting members to the broader national service movement
Collaborating with the Site Director to identify service opportunities for full cohort
Identifying potential community based organizations to collaborate within order to plan and implement a service project in each community
Establishing a system for outreach, planning, coordination, and implementation of the four (4) mandatory service days: Make a Difference Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service; Global Youth Service Day, AmeriCorps Week
Assistance in gathering and documenting (via pictures and stories) from the Service Day activities
Executing a Service Day activity at minimum once in each program location (Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury)
Managing and coaching Allies, providing professional development through individual and group coaching, ensuring leadership development and Ally retention, maintaining compliant member files, and supporting partnerships between Public Allies and partner organizations
Responsible for the recruitment of Member Service Year placements, Ally recruitment, compliance, and collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team
Supporting the implementation of Ally training and learning program, conducting outreach, and participating in quarterly and annual reviews to improve program quality
Assisting with other duties as needed including partner recruitment, writing position descriptions, and helping to plan and run matching fairs

Required
Bachelor’s Degree or comparative life experience
Experience planning events required
Experience in building community partnerships
Experience developing and managing relationships and collaborations
Strong commitment to building a just and equitable Connecticut utilizing an asset-based approach
Strong and intersectional understanding of racial, economic and social justice
Have a passion for leadership development, ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries and high expectations for a quality and transformative leadership experience for our Allies and community partners
Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Model and exemplify the professional and leadership qualities that the Allies are being supported to achieve
Commitment to personal and programmatic excellence
Ability to be adaptive and comfortable with change in a dynamic work environment
Attention to detail, strong time management and project management skills
Experience and openness to working with people from diverse backgrounds
Sense of humor
Positive attitude
Creativity in solving problems
Preferred
Strong preference for and experience in collaborative, team-based work environments
Ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator
Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling, and grasping regularly
Specific vision conditions include close vision reading
