Responsibilities

Strategic communications and written features that celebrate rural places, teachers, and communities, and social media posts
Plan and implement iterative communications strategies
Generate and monitor RSC’s social media and online presence; share reports with staff
Assess and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies
Develop work plans, agendas, and reporting on deliverables and timelines for programs
Support colleagues on collaborative projects
Assist with development, including grant-writing, reporting, and research as needed
Building positive relationships with and among RSC’s community partners
Other expectations will be within the typical parameters of nonprofit work and public service. This job description is not intended to be exhaustive – as a small team, we all pitch in to support one another and enact our mission.

Required

Highly organized with project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a knack for storytelling
Proactive communicator and enthusiastic people person

A positive, can-do attitude with stellar follow through on commitments
Ability to work productively in a self-directed, remote environment
A high degree of technical savvy

Preferred

Professional experience in nonprofits, education (k12 and/or higher ed), philanthropy, advocacy, and/or community development
Experience with, or excitement to learn, the following systems is a plus: Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meets), Adobe Acrobat, Slack, Website CMS, Donor Management Software (ex. GiveButter), Mailchimp, Canva, social media scheduling platforms, Zoom
Understanding of place-based education and public schools
Experience and interest in rural and small town contexts
