Responsibilities
Supervising staff on project teams as a project manager
Being responsible for schedules, work in process, and timely completion of project teams
Being responsible for team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual
Being a resource as a project engineer on complex projects
Developing probable construction cost estimate for projects
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Preparing forecast of workload for projects
Coordinating pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed projects
Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
Assist with contract administration and the development of engineering agreements for projects
Preparing and monitoring budgets
Visiting project site(s) to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
Attending client meetings - days or nights
May serve as a technical leader
May direct and supervise other staffs’ projects
Other duties as assigned

Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
A minimum of 12 years of experience (or equivalent)
Registered PE in any state with ability to obtain in Maryland, DC, and Virginia within six months of start date
Preferred
Knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD and MDOT, DCDOT or VDOT and local design guidelines and manuals
Fluency in design/modeling software and tools such as: MicroStation, In-Roads, Open-Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D
Well-versed in Roadway design modeling to include cross sections along with grading, drainage & utilities
Knowledge of VPDES, MDE, and/or DOEE permit requirements
Experience preparing design and construction plans
Experience preparing cost estimates and construction specifications or special provisions
Experience in Mid-Atlantic Area to include MD, DC and VA and local governments
Experienced with report writing as relates to roadway projects
Experience in coordination with various design disciplines, utility coordination and project stakeholders
Experience in preparing scope of work and fee proposals
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
