Responsibilities
Offers technical support at data centers by performing system/network infrastructure installation and troubleshooting to ensure optimum operations.
Responsible for DCIM, monitoring environmental and access controls, and physical security.
Coordinates with Data Center Manager and Facilities staff on environmental control and physical security.
Maintains effective communications with customers utilizing HIR Facility Operations services.
Provides coordination/support/assistance for server/equipment installations, relocations, and decommissioning efforts in data center facilities.
Maintains an accurate inventory account of servers/equipment inside and outside data centers.
Works as a team player and independently as needed, capable of making decisions aligned with the organization's mission.
Works with the Asset Management Team to perform asset inventory and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensures Data Center Facility housekeeping tasks are performed.
Maintains current diagrams of network components and fiber optic cabling.
Maintains professional relationships with customers, management, colleagues, and vendors, delivering high-quality customer service.
Maintains records of work operations, events, and logs to produce concise reports to management.
Participates in matrix managed projects and performs other official duties as assigned.

Required
Technology background and prior computer system operations experience
Extensive knowledge of DCIM, Environmental monitoring, and network cabling
3 years related experience or the equivalent in combined education, training & experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of related work experience or equivalent in combined education, training & experience
Ability to travel between Data Center sites and the Capitol Hill campus
Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support and work shift hours
Ability to pass a background security clearance as deemed appropriate by management
Preferred
Advanced degree in a related field
