Responsibilities

Review construction plans for both private and governmental contract work.
Collect necessary data and information for developing traffic stipulations for governmental contracts.
Review construction permit applications and issue traffic stipulations.
Organize and attend coordination meetings related to building construction activities on city roadways and sidewalks.
Conduct field investigations to develop necessary traffic detours for construction.
Ensure construction is occurring according to permit requirements and address community concerns.
Investigate complaints related to construction activities and prepare written responses.

Required

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.

Preferred

Possession of a driver’s license valid in the State of New York.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to review documents for accuracy, identify problems, manage against tight timelines, and prioritize projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of CCU/ARTS and NYC Streets is a plus.
