Responsibilities

Reviews engineering documents for compliance with applicable procedures and quality requirements.

Monitors productivity of engineering disciplines assigned to the project.

Tracks project performance versus budget and schedule.

Coordinates with the project’s discipline engineers to identify scope changes.

Coordinates assembly of engineering design packages containing drawings, design calculations, specifications, and other engineering deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.

Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.

Facilitate coordination of design work across disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications.

Advises engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could affect project completion and/or profitability.

Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.

Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures.

Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.

Recommends and prepares technical papers.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Required

Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.

Must also possess an understanding of the design process from concept through construction documents.

Must have US person status and ability to obtain/maintain US federal government site and system accesses.
