Responsibilities
Plan, design, and oversee the construction of electric transmission lines
Analyze existing transmission lines for conductor upgrades and communications cable additions
Research and study new technologies, methods, and equipment to optimize transmission systems
Draft, finalize, approve, and issue drawings, material lists, manuals, and schedules for construction, while revising transmission records to reflect as-built conditions
Coordinate, schedule, and plan transmission project activities, providing technical support as needed
Specify, requisition, and approve materials for transmission projects
Develop, approve, and maintain material specifications and construction standards, as well as design processes and procedures
Provide transmission project budget estimates and monthly spending projections
Write construction contracts and manage contractors on projects
Estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility
Utilize SAP to determine project costs, order materials, and monitor project progress
Participate in routing and siting projects
Support Civic Projects where transmission towers and/or lines are in conflict
Review encroachment requests for customers and developers
Perform other duties as assigned

Required
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas
Demonstrated mastery of engineering discipline skills
Ability to lead cross-functional business initiatives and teams
Proven ability to effectively handle a broad range of engineering assignments with minimal supervision
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage project costs, timelines, scope, and risks
Excellent communication skills focused on understanding customer needs and developing resolutions
Strong people skills, with a bias for a collaborative working style
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, email, and scheduling
Ability to work call duty and occasional unscheduled work in the evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
Willingness to travel occasionally to off-site work locations, seminars, manufacturing plant inspections, etc.
