Responsibilities

Respond to and address guest repair requests.

Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.

Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.

Inspect tools, equipment, or machines visually.

Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radio).

Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all general service disconnect keys for buildings.

Maintain maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed.

Communicate daily activities and issues to employees on other shifts using appropriate communication programs and standards.

Demonstrate basic knowledge or aptitude to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.

Perform surface preparation and painting, small repairs of walls and woodwork, replacement of light bulbs and air conditioner filters, and complete and thorough cleaning of the painting or repair area.

Test, diagnose malfunctions, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclog toilets and drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuums, internet devices, replace switches and power outlets, and other items in guest rooms.

Program TVs and perform general maintenance tasks and inventory related to engineering.

Use lockout/tagout system before performing maintenance work.

Perform repairs in indoor and outdoor gardens as well as outdoor garden irrigation systems.

Demonstrate basic knowledge in computer operation including entering schedules into the air regulation system and changing temperature.
