Responsibilities
Independently plan, coordinate, inspect, and oversee project inspection activities of build facilities.
Monitor contractors and schedules to ensure quality control and contract compliance of moderate to complex construction projects.
Apply engineering principles in the inspection and documentation of construction activities.
Recommend changes to construction plans to meet field conditions or provide cost savings.
Review and monitor EEO/DBE documentation and compliance with contract documents
Oversee, direct, and review the work of Inspectors and Inspector Trainees
Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation using the Frederick County Materials Book & project management software which could include Frederick County Site Manager.
Complete testing of materials using Frederick County testing procedures
Apply Best Management Practices to safety activities.
Communicate with various stakeholders including Localities and Frederick County
Assist with the development of change orders, investigations, and the analysis of Notices of Intent to File Claims

Required
High School Diploma or GED
4 + years' experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection
Experience operating computer equipment, software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, and field-testing equipment
Certifications and Licenses - MARTCP – Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program, HMA - Field, Concrete - Field, Soils and Aggregate, Pavement Marking, State of Maryland Temporary Traffic Control Manager, State of Maryland MDE RCP, State of Maryland Yellow Card, OSHA 10 Hour
Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Must be able and willing to work day and night shifts
Ability to pass a criminal history background check
Preferred
Should have these certifications or be able to obtain them within 6 months
