Responsibilities

Inspection, cleaning, disassembly, repair, and replacement of parts and assemblies of towed, self-propelled, and turret artillery and their mounts and carriages.

Taking measurements and ensuring safe operation of artillery and equipment.

Operating overhead cranes.

Required

Must have 3 yr. experience as an automotive mechanic or 2 years military background in artillery, which includes using common hand tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and spring weighting machines.

Must possess an Overhead Bridge Crane operator license.

Must possess an Ammunition Certification Level I in accordance with ATC Regulation 350-8 within 6 months of employment.

Must possess a Forklift License.

Must be able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted.

Must be capable of kneeling, bending and standing while performing maintenance duties.

Must be able to distinguish colors.

Must be able to ascend and descend equipment.

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
