Responsibilities
Drive product development to design new products, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques through competitive comparisons/analysis.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of competitors, allied industry OEMs and new technologies which may improve operations and develop recommendations accordingly.
Analyze industry competitors, technology trends, and market demand to plan product development, options, and performance enhancements.
Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
Collaborate with management, production, marketing, and customer service staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Forecast product profitability, costs (material and labor), and operating costs while participating in preparation of Product Development Authorization (PDA) process and team justifying product creation.
Advise management of all developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
Develop Marketing and Communication material with support of the Marketing Team and mutually coordinate new product launches.
Actively participate in Trade Shows, Trade associates and Product demonstrations.
Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
Carry out additional duties and occasional project work as needed.

Required
Basic knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and engines (mechanical).
Good organizational skills.
3-5 years of relevant industry experience in engineering/product management/application support.
Computer skills: MS Office Suite, Power BI, costing, and planning.
Math skills (concepts/probability/statistical/analytics).
Customer Service skills (ability to build relationships).
Marketing knowledge.
Bachelor's degree in engineering/business management or similar experience (a big plus).
Must be willing to work onsite at our Lincolnton, NC Manufacturing Facility.
Must be willing to travel.
Preferred
Experience in leading or managing cross-functional teams, supporting the development of products is a plus.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP business software for BOM structure (a plus but not a top priority).
