Responsibilities

Develop and maintain databases for all production tooling required for new product launches.

Design new tooling based on JTEKT design standards or re-engineer designs when standards are not available.

Evaluate existing machine conditions for new projects and make recommendations for maintenance.

Coordinate with internal and external suppliers for tool selection.

Assist in tooling cost estimation and installation.

Solve complex manufacturing issues and advance tool design technology.

Create work instructions, preventative maintenance procedures, and machinery specifications.

Conduct machine runoffs, create production line layouts, and support new product modifications.

Assist in solving daily manufacturing issues.

Required

Experience in complexed tooling/mechanism design and troubleshooting

Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software

Knowledge in the proper selection of materials, heat treatment, surface treatment and coatings, and mechanical components for the appropriate application in tooling design

Comfortable performing in a manufacturing environment

Ability to communicate and work effectively with people of differing backgrounds and responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering Degree (BSME or MSME)

Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience
