Responsibilities
Learn and assist in COBRA Administration functions including:
- Data entry process (into Travis) to ensure accuracy and timeliness for beneficiary notifications, elections, and changes
- Posting of COBRA premium payments
- Preparation of vouchers and providing Accounting with check runs for client(s)
- Process for premium remittance to client(s)
- Daily download, auto-processing, and mailings
- Process for return mail
- Process for rate changes and associated rate change letters
- Maintain appropriate files for required documentation
Serve as dedicated COBRA Service Representative for assigned client(s)
Assist in ensuring that the COBRA Customer Service phone line has continuous coverage during business hours, that calls are answered promptly and professionally, and that accurate information is provided to callers
Document calls into the respective COBRA beneficiary record in Travis
Perform job responsibilities in a manner that meets established performance goals/guarantees
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports on COBRA activity to Department Manager, as requested
Coordinate with other departments (Administration, Account Management, Flex Unit) to ensure processes run smoothly and any issues are resolved in a timely manner
Document and report any COBRA complaints to Compliance Manager and assist in resolution and response
Provide training to other staff for cross-training purposes
Perform other duties as assigned

Required
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Experience in health insurance industry and benefit administration
Experience in COBRA regulatory compliance
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional customer service, and interpersonal skills
Effective problem-solving and influencing skills
Strong organizational, self-motivation, and decision-making skills
Proficiency using Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Travis COBRA system
Knowledge of third-party administration concepts and philosophies
Ability work well against deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as needed
Preferred
Knowledge of COBRA regulations
