Responsibilities
Providing professional engineering design services for transportation improvements projects
Overseeing design development and production of construction details, plans, specifications, and estimates including detailed engineering calculations
Collaborating with clients, sub-consultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements
Directing and mentoring design support staff
Conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; performing routine calculations, and participating in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions

Required
Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil Engineering
North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to attain within 1 year
4 - 8 years of transportation roadway design experience
Proficiency in MicroStation and GEOPAK. OpenRoads experience is a plus
Demonstrated knowledge and application of AASHTO and State DOT design standards
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Preferred
NCDOT roadway design experience
