Responsibilities
Lays out product designs using CAD software program.
Creates new product designs and product redesigns.
Assists in solving problems and improving processes on the production floor.
Designs welding, fabrication, and assembly fixtures as necessary.
Assists in testing new products and evaluating performance for approval.
Develops engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing standards.
Provides assistance and training to other engineering department associates.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required, or a combination of years of experience and education.
Knowledge of part drawings, assembly drawings, and design layouts required.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software required.
Strong computer skills including Excel and Word required.
Strong aptitude for design of parts, weldments, and kinematic assemblies required.
Knowledge of stress analysis and engineering design standards required.
Ability to effectively apply engineering and problem-solving skills in real-world manufacturing environment required.
Ability to quickly develop proficiency with JD Edwards (ERP), including ability to thoroughly understand and operate engineering, production control, and inventory control modules of the system.
Excellent communication skills required, both oral and written.
Ability to communicate instructions from a technical perspective required.
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize required.
Previous engineering experience working in a manufacturing / industrial environment.
Preferred
Proficiency with SolidWorks software preferred.
Experience with FEA analysis desirable.
Knowledge of steel manufacturing (fabrication and welding) equipment and processes desirable.
