Responsibilities

Implements, monitors, and maintains the operational health of local (LAN) and wide area networks.
Installs, configures, and supports industry-standard network and security infrastructure equipment including Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Aruba, and Velocloud.
Works closely with and under supervision/direction of mid- and senior-level engineers and IT Management in support of business initiatives.
Proactively monitors and reports on overall network performance.
Creates and maintains technical documentation including operational procedures, knowledge-base documents, and training documentation.
Participates in 24x7 on-call support rotation and expertise for network operations trouble resolution
Acts as a project resource for new and existing implementations

Required

Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco/Meraki switches, wireless access points (WAPs) and routers
Understanding of network firewall principles and operations
Understanding of wireless network concepts and infrastructure operations
Understanding use of packet sniffer tracing applications
Understanding of VoIP concepts and processes
Ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks and projects
Strong communications skills - effectively communicate status of problem resolution and projects
Good documentation, organizational and prioritization capabilities
AS in Information Technology (IT) and/or at least 2 years of work experience in IT operational environments (end-user support; server support)

Preferred

Network engineering certifications desired – EG: Cisco (CCNA); Juniper (JNCIA-Junos); Comp TIA Network+
