Responsibilities

Working alongside Security Operations and Compliance teams to plan and lead Security Engineering initiatives.
Establishing, optimizing, and leading various Security Engineering functions.
Managing a team of security engineers and providing technical guidance.
Overseeing recruitment, training, and development of security engineering personnel.
Providing technical leadership and management of Security Engineering projects.
Implementing design reviews and evaluating security controls.
Building, implementing, and managing enterprise security tools effectively.
Maintaining and enhancing cybersecurity tools and ensuring peak operational performance.
Driving consideration of cybersecurity tools and datasets for enhanced controls.
Assisting Cybersecurity leadership with technical direction and vision.
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive vision and strategy for security engineering initiatives.
Communicating efficiently across all levels of management to articulate vision and direction.
Acting as a mentor to Cybersecurity team members if required.
Collaborating with corporate functions to maintain a strong cybersecurity posture.
Driving operational excellence and ensuring great service delivery to internal customers.
Understanding technical security issues and communicating them to management and business leaders.
Maintaining and enforcing cybersecurity policies, standards, and secure design documentation.
Developing and implementing security engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Regularly assessing the effectiveness of security measures and identifying areas for improvement.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance or other related discipline or 12+ years of previous technical experience, specifically security engineering and architecture experience.
Ideal candidates will be considered a technical expert and a proven leader.
A minimum of 7+ years of experience in security engineering, with at least 4+ years in a security leadership role.
5+ years hands-on experience in managing enterprise security tools such as Vulnerability Management Tools, Security Orchestration solutions, Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM), endpoint security tools.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of security engineers.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate within the context of the intended audience, whether that be senior executives or highly technical engineering resources.
Hands-on technical experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks and how they affect architecture designs and reviews.
Proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing security systems and solutions for large-scale and complex organizations.

Preferred

Management and/or leadership focused security certifications are a plus. (CISSP, CISM, C|CISO, etc.)
Experience leading a distributed team that provides 24/7 operational support and excellent service delivery is a plus.
