Responsibilities

Develop and oversee research proposals related to pre-award contract and grant administration.

Maintain contract and grant records in compliance with institutional and research sponsor policies.

Prepare and review single Investigator NIH proposals for Dean's endorsement.

Attend trainings to stay updated on laws and regulations governing proposal development.

Handle miscellaneous contract and grant-related duties as assigned by School leadership.

Required

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

A minimum of 3 years of experience

Ability to manage a high volume of transactions

Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting

Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports

Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus

General knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures and techniques

Writing skills to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences

Excellent oral and written communications skills

Preferred

Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.

Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration

Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles

Knowledge of NIH grant policies governing the conduct of research, proposal submission procedures and management or awards

Direct knowledge of University of California contract and grant policies
