Responsibilities
Assist with managing and improving the full lifecycle of Journal Tech SaaS products running on IaaS/PaaS providers such as AWS.
Help design and improve existing product packaging, installation, upgrades, management, and administration scripts and utilities
Deploy and configure infrastructure monitoring solutions.
Manage cryptographic certificates
Work with other software engineers, database engineers, SRE, and product managers to help ensure our SaaS products meet customer SLA requirements.
Work with other DevSecOps personnel to identify and resolve insecure systems
Be available for after-hour Cloud Operations rotations.

Required
5+ years Linux service administration (systemd, Iptables, etc), shell (bash, ssh, etc.) and troubleshooting (curl, tcpdump, ps, top, swap, memory, cpu usage, kernel logs, etc).
3+ years AWS administration and monitoring (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ALB, DNS/Route53, GovCloud, EKS, ECS, CloudWatch, Cloud Trail, etc).
3+ years Docker and related container technologies.
3+ years dealing with certificate management (ssh keys, certs, TLS, CA, PKI, etc).
3+ years direct experience with configuration management tools (ex. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
3+ years working with web-based applications, especially Java based.
3+ years working with web servers such as NGINX and Apache as reverse proxies, load balancers and application hosts.
2+ years working with IaC cloud automation tools such as Terraform, Packer, AWS Cloud Formation, etc
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred
Experience with deployment and configuration management across 10+ AWS accounts.
Experience with a development language (ex. Ruby, Python, Go, Java)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Circle CI.
Experience with Vault.
Experience with Kubernetes
Experience with networking concepts (VPN, IP tables, AWS networking best practices, etc)
Experience with compliance frameworks such as CJIS, SOC2.
