Responsibilities

Conduct exploratory R&D activities for chromatography column and sample preparation consumable products
Generate, investigate, and explore new ideas and concepts by defining experiments, building, debugging, and characterizing prototypes
Lead new product development efforts, including prototype design and development, functional testing, characterization, scale-up efforts, and manufacturability assessments
Provide technical guidance and expertise to product development teams, strategically and tactically guiding R&D activities to develop highly differentiated ion chromatography separation media, columns, and sample preparation products
Serve as a technical resource to management and cross-functional teams in the areas of ion-exchange chromatography consumables, resin synthesis, modification, and characterization
Collaborate with product management and operations representatives to provide technical support for ion chromatography column and sample preparation consumables
Deliver new product design and application messaging internally, at conferences, and during interactions with customers through accomplished presentations
Contribute to the scientific community by writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, invention disclosures, and possible patent applications

Required

PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent field of science.
With a PhD degree, at least 2 years of relevant industry experience required.
With a Master’s degree, at least 4 years of relevant industry experience required
Proficiency in polymer synthesis and hands-on experience using characterization tools such as particle size analysis, surface area measurements, and other related techniques
Knowledge of liquid chromatography principles and separation materials
Well-versed in analytical chemistry principles and analytical techniques
High level of technology fluency to understand and properly communicate the technology associated with assigned products
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
Excellent organization and planning skills
Ability to make independent decisions
Ability to accurately plan, define, and manage project tasks
Strong ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic and fast-paced setting
