Responsibilities
Collaborate with IT Services staff, campus members, and vendors to create standard hardware product catalogs, support routine end-user purchases, and maintain a product release calendar.
Assess customer needs, ensure Service Desk technicians have necessary information for deployment, and answer campus questions about software availability and licensing.
Support non-routine technology purchasing, help coordinate RFPs, apply purchasing procedures and policies, and provide technology purchasing reporting to IT Services leadership.
Support institutional goals of simplification, cost containment, and redirection from low-value to high-value investments, review technology contracts, and assist with IT Services financial transactions and asset management.

Required
Experience in purchasing.
Working knowledge of IT hardware, spare parts, and standard business software.
Customer-focused approach.
Strong Microsoft business application skills.
Effective listener with communication skills and the ability to produce effective, professional, and accurate written correspondence.
Able to establish productive working relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
Detail-oriented self-starter: able to rapidly switch tasks, take initiative to solve problems, and elevate issues in a timely manner.
Personal accountability for project timelines and milestones.
A demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity, and the ability to live out the university’s mission, vision, and values.
Ability to lift and carry boxes of up to 25 pounds.
Preferred
Buyer/procurement agent and vendor management experience.
Understanding of purchasing systems, company price/part lists and familiarity with accounts payable transaction processing including procure-to-pay and invoice processing.
IT ticketing system knowledge.
Experience working in higher education.
