Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and lead project work and engineering assignments.
Evaluate field and laboratory testing, and perform field services.
Manage and execute all aspects of projects by planning, preparing proposals, budgets, scopes, schedules, and assigning necessary tasks to staff involved.
Analyze, interpret, and evaluate data from field and laboratory findings.
Communicate effectively and consistently with teammates, design professionals, and contractors.
Review project billing, track time spent on projects, and operate company testing equipment and vehicles in accordance with company policies.
Perform and/or coordinate field services (subgrade observations, pile driving observations, installation of geotechnical instrumentation, etc.).
Interact with staff, general public, clients, contractors, and others during project work, attend project meetings, and maintain specific client relationships.
Attend professional meetings, business, and industry events.
Practice confidentiality according to company policy.

Required
B.S. Civil Engineering required, with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology preferred.
Familiarity with geology and site conditions in New England.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts, or, holds F.E./E.I.T. and ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year, required.
Minimum of 4 years of related engineering and project management experience, or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions required of Project Geotechnical Engineer.
Risk management training.
Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Experience with and in-depth knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MathCAD, geotechnical analysis programs, and able to learn new programs.
Understand and apply advanced, industry related math skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to direct and organize activities.
Broad knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
Skilled in collecting, analyzing, and organizing complex data.
Ability to maintain records of materials, supplies, time, and work performed.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
Regularly spend long hours sitting/standing and using office equipment.
Occasionally conducts field and/or laboratory testing on soil, aggregate and rock samples and equipment, requiring lifting, carrying and bending with up to 100 pounds.
Driving for long periods of time and more frequent shorter trips.
Close, distant, and peripheral vision.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
Ability to remember and understand verbal and written instructions.
Ability to reason logically and make decisions.

Preferred

Has an established network of industry contacts and clients in New England and regularly participates in related trade events.
