Responsibilities

Lead a team that develops, tests, documents, and deploys high-quality software into production

Clarify requirements, assist with coding/story estimates, and participate in the on-call rotation when needed

Identify and resolve roadblocks, mitigate risks, and make technical and design decisions

Contribute to team planning and design discussions, drive best practices, and lead code reviews

Simplify code, resolve architecture deficiencies, and impact software architecture and business value

Improve testability, operational metrics, and team documentation

Advise technology leaders, mentor other engineers, and influence adherence to engineering strategies

Develop a solid understanding of the industry, product, and technology trends

Required

5+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault tolerant systems

Demonstrated proficiency in Java

You understand a broad range of design approaches

You are able to triage and debug system-wide production issues

Demonstrated experience mentoring other engineers

Able to effectively communicate complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences (engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, non-technical functional leaders)

Familiar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

You have an agile mindset; able to embrace new initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Thrives in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve regularly and decisions are made quickly

Team-first mentality, with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and a desire to strive for better

Able to effectively work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment
