Rail Vehicle Test Engineer

Responsibilities
Witness and monitor rail vehicle qualification tests conducted to validate vehicle and/or equipment performance against procedures and industry standards.
Review test procedures for specification compliance, technical content, and execution logistics.
Prepare clear and concise daily/weekly/monthly reports on test progress and key issues.
Assist with the conduct forensic investigation of failed tests under the direction of senior staff.
Participate in technical working sessions to address issues raised by clients.
Prepare client-ready technical briefs and presentations as directed by project leads.
Develop technical specifications for mechanical/electro-mechanical, or electrical equipment.
Assist in the review design submittals, and the preparation of detailed review findings.
Provide engineering support as required.

Required
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
Basic knowledge of rail vehicle system design requirements.
Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to independently guide and work with others on technical issues.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, work well within a team, take direction from other senior staff members, the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
Valid driver license (travel to various domestic and international sites required)
Preferred
Ability to use Dewesoft data analysis software.
Knowledge of instrumentation setup, function, and data collection.
Knowledge of data logging equipment and setup.
Microsoft Office software skills.
An FE registration is desirable but not required.
