Responsibilities

Develop and apply CNC fabrication processes on optical materials (glass, silicon, SiC) to manufacture ultra-precision components and systems.
Program CNC routines using Mastercam for the machining of complex structures and aspheric surface geometries.
Operate Haas and DMG-Mori 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers to machine a variety of optical materials to precise specifications.
Work with the design team to conceptualize and implement standardized tools and fixtures.
Develop, sustain, and improve manufacturing methods to improve efficiency and yield.
Coach and train junior technicians in CNC fabrication technical skills, methods, and programming.

Required

Minimum of 10 years of CNC machining and programming experience
Extensive knowledge of any commercially available CAM software – Mastercam is preferred
Understanding of GD&T tolerances and technical drawing interpretation

Preferred

Experience with 5-axis programming
Experience using macros, probes, and tool setters
Knowledge of glass and/or ceramic machining
