Responsibilities

Respond to and attend to guest repair requests.

Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues with little or no supervision.

Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.

Inspect tools, equipment, or machinery visually.

Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radio).

Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and building disconnect keys.

Maintain maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed.

Ensure to communicate daily activities and issues to employees of other shifts using appropriate communication programs and standards.

Demonstrate proficiency in any of the following categories, above-average skill in two or more of the following categories, and basic skill in the rest of the categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.

Demonstrate a strong knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks.

Demonstrate basic proficiency to repair or replace copper or PVC pipes (including soldering).

Diagnose malfunctions and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., unclog toilets and drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace switches and power outlets, and other guest room items.

Program televisions and perform general maintenance and engineering-related tasks.

Assist with the preparation and painting of surfaces, minor wall and woodwork repairs, bulb and air conditioner filter replacements, and thorough cleaning and painting area or repairs.

Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.

Demonstrate practical knowledge of all engineering software programs related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interface with such programs.

Demonstrate average proficiency in diagnosing malfunctions of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (MEP).

Demonstrate proficiency in training and guiding other engineers (e.g., Engineer I).

Demonstrate proficiency in performing the duties of a Duty Engineer, including readings and rounds.

Required
