Responsibilities

Meet in person with personal injury clients in the greater NYC area, predominantly Spanish speaking, for intake and onboarding

Assist paralegals with managing high volume civil litigation cases, primarily involving high-value, catastrophic personal injuries

Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents

Assist in drafting pleadings, notices (deposition, and otherwise), and propounding and responding to discovery

Draft and process incoming and outgoing correspondence

Provide administrative assistance to attorneys, including managing calendars and deadlines

Act as a liaison among all parties including court or other neutrals for scheduling and sharing information

Schedule, confirm and assist attorneys in preparation for depositions

Prepare materials for review by expert witnesses and consultants

Research case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside reference sources

Assist in preparing for court proceedings

Organize and maintain electronic case files within the company software/case management system (experience and knowledge of Smart Advocate software a plus)

Required

Associate’s degree preferred.

Fluent in Spanish (Required)

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Understand legal terminology and documentation.

Detail oriented, team-player, positive, energetic, kind, well-spoken with excellent customer service skills.

Perform well in a high level fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Skilled with computers and software as well as organized.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Outlook, Word), Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Demonstrate good ethics, judgment and maintain the confidentiality of files.
