Responsibilities

Create social media calendars aligned with public health observances and priorities.
Manage social media messaging for various topics on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Craft action-oriented messages, edit messages, and place them on social media channels.
Identify additional postings needed and participate in communication forums.
Develop concepts and write content for various digital communication materials.
Perform community management for social channels and compile reports on social media impact.
Research social media trends, make recommendations, and develop guidelines for social media activities.

Required

2 years with BS/BA. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
2 years of experience in managing social media or traditional communication projects, channels, or campaigns.
At least a year of experience in the latest social media applications including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, blogs and websites.
At least a year of experience in social media content development for Facebook and/or Twitter.
Experience developing and executing project plans and communications strategies.
Strong research skills with the ability to organize information and present results to the client.
Attention to detail in developing high quality results.
Proven ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to deliver a proactive, energetic, and innovative approach to social media channel management.
Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Preferred

Experience working in public health communications at the CDC.
Knowledge/interest in digital media technology and trends.
Working knowledge of CDC communications standards, policies, and processes, e.g. plain language guidelines and clearance processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
