Responsibilities
Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, and conferences.
Transcribes attorney dictation, prepares legal documents, and creates visually pleasing legal documents.
Maintains and updates electronic case management system, retrieves information, and conducts legal research.
Uses legal terminology, navigates legal research platforms, and understands court structures and rules.
Organizes and prioritizes information, assists with tracking deadlines, and answers phones for attorneys.
Acts as a liaison between attorneys and firm personnel, handles confidential information, and works on special projects.
Coordinates workload with other legal secretaries, types correspondences, and supports attorneys in various tasks.
Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite and Aderant Total Office for administrative tasks.

Required
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation

Transcribe attorney dictation
Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and other court appearances
Book extensive travel
Prepare and reconcile expense reports
Prepare correspondence and legal documents
E-file in both state and federal courts
Assist attorneys with time and billing
Conduct basic online and legal research
Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize workload
Knowledgeable of Florida court structures, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, and Rules of Judicial Administration
Capable of obtaining, reviewing, and understanding local court rules and administrative orders
Organize and prioritize large volumes of information and calls
Assist attorneys with tracking and managing deadlines
Answer phones for attorneys, take messages, re-route calls, or answer questions
Act as a liaison between attorneys and other firm personnel
Handle confidential and non-routine information
Maintain confidences
Work independently and within a team on special projects
Coordinate workload with other legal secretaries and paralegals
Type and prepare general correspondences, motions, notices, memos, charts, tables, etc.
Proofread and redline documents for accuracy and clarity
Support attorneys in maintaining receipts, requesting reimbursements, and documenting expenses
Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite and Aderant Total Office (f/k/a Client Profiles)
