Responsibilities

Successful completion of complex engineering work in technology development, product design, test of materials, preparation of specifications, and research investigation.

Designing single-use disposable medical instruments using injection molding, metals, and special processes.

Utilizing CAD packages for 3D design work.

Leveraging knowledge of sterilization, biocompatibility, shelf life, & packaging for design decisions.

Establishing and maintaining development efforts with research universities.

Meeting with global thought leaders, studying relevant articles, and applying findings to projects.

Summarizing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from test results.

Designing and preparing reports to communicate results.

Coordinating engineering tests and experiments, managing project goals, and documenting progress.

Translating customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.

Working cooperatively with various departments on projects to ensure success.

Providing training and work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers.

Generating innovative solutions to market needs and submitting idea disclosures.

Providing oversight of Manufacturing Site for Quality, Manufacturing, and Project activities.

Required

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of design/development experience in the medical device industry, or A.A. degree and 6+ years of work-related experience in the medical device industry.

Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD system(s).
