Responsibilities

Investigates/implements improvements to facet of manufacturing/production.
Participates on project teams as a team member or leader, providing expertise and direction.
Monitors job progress by vendors and provides necessary direction.
Facilitates training sessions for internal employees as needed.
Documents current projects and provides information to management.
Co-ordinates the implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s).
Updates product-related documentation and provides operator training.
Deals with customers on continuous improvement activities.
Trains maintenance employees on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Works cooperatively with Program Manager on new product launches.
Contributes to a safe work environment and complies with laws and regulations.
Handles various personalities in Continuous Improvement teams.
Identifies improvement opportunities to enhance quality and cost efficiency.
Meets budget and project timeline parameters.
Establishes/maintains relationships with senior management, employees, customers, and suppliers.

Required

Minimum 5-10 years of experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive stampings, welding, mechanical and modular assemblies.
College Diploma or University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Robotic)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate, lead and build/maintain relationships
Sound computer skills, e.g. MS Word, Excel, Project, Cad Key, GroupWise
Ability to deal with conflict and/or resistance
Effective use of problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to analyze information received from a variety of sources and provide recommendations
Thorough knowledge of TS 16949/ISO 14001, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ergonomics, Time Studies, Robotics and Industrial Relations
Knowledge of welding processes including projection, mig and laser
Ability to read and interpret blue print drawings
Sound understanding of Geometric Dimensioning + Tolerancing

Preferred

Understanding and use of relevant KIRCHHOFF Automotive Production Systems (KAPS) methods and tools in all processes, and adherence to applicable KAPS standards.
Understanding and use of the applicable Shopfloor and Office Management pillars and standards, and active participation in all applicable Shopfloor and Office Management meetings and activities.
Understanding and use of the KIRCHHOFF Behaviors in the daily relationship with other colleagues, customers and suppliers.
Understanding, support and participation in all tasks, trainings and development topics that will drive KIRCHHOFF towards Lean Excellence.
