Responsibilities

Provides technical support to development team members.

Works on one or more projects of high complexity within areas of expertise.

Collaborates with the Network Team and Customer Director to ensure network security and connectivity.

Provides end-user support for Tier-1 and Tier-2 level network issues based on business priorities.

Assists in deploying/maintaining core switches.

Independently deploys, configures, and updates edge switches.

Deploys, maintains, and manages campus telephone system: SIP, PRI, and VoIP.

Maintains host name servers and their IP addresses which include DNS and DHCP.

Maintains VLAN and IP address schemas.

Ensures proxy authentication through NPS and Radius.

Resolves escalations on an array of end-user telephony issues, and wireless and wired networking problems.

Configures/deploy/troubleshoot WAPs and their controllers and management systems.

Is on-call 24x7 in case of emergency network issues and to handle any outages relating to the network/telephony.

Mentors Junior Network Administrators and provides appropriate guidance, as needed.

Mentors and supervises Student Assistants and provides appropriate guidance.

Ensures efficiency, security, reliability, usability, and scalability of network equipment through proactive monitoring and automation.

Manages day-to-day administration of Campus Switches, Routers, and Firewall and their supporting applications.

Researches and makes recommendations to improve networking and telecommunications standards and processes.

Defines network policies and procedures, and documents completed projects and tasks.

Maintains VoIP Call Center, hunt groups, and call routing.

Has the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues with little intervention from others or documentation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience

Ten years of experience working with IP networks and supporting systems

Three years of experience working with Extreme Networks, Aruba, Cisco (or equivalent experience with similar hardware/software)

Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Palo Alto Global Protect VPN and Cisco VPN including remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution (or equivalent experience with similar hardware/software)
