Responsibilities

Provide leadership for highly complex and challenging safety culture activities.
Develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and techniques for safety projects.
Conduct functional activities for projects/programs requiring new and innovative approaches.
Review and assess current practices to develop a comprehensive communication plan promoting safety culture.
Apply project management principles, methods, and tools for managing projects and resources.
Identify, define, and organize resources for large projects or work activities.
Acquire and allocate resources to accomplish activities within established schedules and budgets.
Work with program managers to implement health and safety objectives for all employees.
Develop decision processes and methods to execute work activities within project plans.
Apply change management principles and techniques for planning, implementing, and evaluating.
Provide support to cross-organizational teams for data collection and analysis related to safety culture.
Manage and monitor data collection using various methods like workshops, interviews, and surveys.
Predict, identify, and evaluate potential risks, proposing ways to avoid or minimize impact.
Apply strategic communication practices to support teams in analyzing and evaluating safety practices.
Assess existing safety practices and communication efforts to enhance a positive safety culture.
Analyze alternative approaches and provide guidance to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Collaborate with internal and external contacts, national labor organizations, and other stakeholders.
Formulate recommendations for senior management on major projects, policies, and issues.
Prepare, review, and recommend approvals of reports on projects, programs, and work activities.
Develop briefings to convey strategic vision and organizational policies to internal and external audiences.

Required

US Citizenship is required
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
Must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13
Experience with the collection and analysis of data aimed at assessing individual and group values, attitudes, and competencies
Experience assessing existing safety practices and communication efforts to enhance and promote a positive safety culture within the organization
Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement
