Responsibilities
Working with the Privacy Officer and privacy team to ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
Conducting policy and standard operating procedure research and development.
Implementing practical solutions to support privacy.
Conducting investigations and responding to government and patient complaints and incidents.
Communicating with patients regarding privacy complaints.
Working with business leaders to resolve privacy issues and develop solutions.
Analyzing breaches, patient risk, and developing notification letters.
Statistical reporting on breaches, privacy incidents, and OCR cases.
Analyzing data privacy incidents and breaches to identify trends.
Monitoring privacy industry developments and researching new laws and regulations.
Assisting in the development of training materials for employee population.
Providing support on privacy matters from various regions and functional areas.
Collaborating with attorneys to interpret regulations and manage tasks.
Supporting Privacy Officer with special assignments or projects.

Required
3-5 years in a health care company or law firm working on privacy issues, laws and regulations.
Demonstrated project management experience and ability to prioritize activities.
A.S/B.S. or equivalent preferred; Paralegal certificate a plus.
Healthcare compliance and/or privacy certifications (e.g., CHC, CHPC, CIPP/US) are a plus.
Cognitive ability to observe and interpret information, assess data, make an assessment and recall details as needed.
Ability to work independently and on a virtual team environment.
Perform job duties with frequent interruptions or distractions and adjust priorities and focus quickly as circumstances dictate.
Effective communication (verbal and written), researching, drafting, proofreading, planning, organizational and computer skills.
Strong, professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact professionally with colleagues and/or customers for different purposes in different contexts.
Maintain composure under pressure.
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to examine/observe details.
