Responsibilities

Identify target populations and analyze trends to develop effective prevention and control tactics.

Perform risk assessments, surveillance, education, and reporting for inpatients.

Research and develop comprehensive risk assessments annually for the facility/function.

Ensure infection control procedures are understood and applied effectively.

Collaborate with internal/external committees to promote the utilization of EMR technologies.

NursingClinical Laboratory TechnologistInfection Control Certification

Required

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, medical technology program, or other healthcare related field, and five years of recent related healthcare work experience

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and five years of recent related work experience

Current licensure by the Washington State Nursing Commission if degree is in Nursing

National Registration as an MLS (ASCP) if degree is other than Nursing

Certification with the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist if degree is other than Nursing

Certification in Infection Control (CBIC)

Preferred

Master’s degree in a related discipline
