Responsibilities
Maintenance of all current network hardware and software at the TOC and new installations.
Performing hardware and software upgrades, network performance planning, and capacity planning.
Supporting equipment installation, configuration, and integration with central software.
Providing procurement support by determining equipment specifications and assisting in commercial-off-the-shelf procurement decisions.
Staying current with emerging security trends, issues, and alerts, and communicating known security risks and solutions to leadership.

Required
7-10+ years of Cisco Network Engineering experience- routing, switching & working with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
CCNP HIGHLY PREFERRED, any TRUE architect experience preferred-- needs to be able to lay out the network, as well as make succession plans for the network (ie: what they should be working towards)
Experience working with networking monitoring (Nagios) & tackling complex, Cisco-based networking issues
Experience with Cisco Firepower firewalls, and security tools such as splunk, tenable, forescout
Senior Level Network Engineer
Preferred
Network engineering, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Bgp, Ccna, Firewall, Ccnp
This position will also be required to perform some light system administration related duties. Such typical duties expected of the Network Engineer shall include, at a minimum, the following:
Monitor network performance/utilization
Add/remove system users
Change user privileges
Provide full system backups and restoration, if necessary
Manage network security policies and procedures
Participate in Configuration Change Board (CCB) meetings
Manage network configuration
Archive data as directed
Develop reports
Implement bug fixes, patches and upgrades
Support the addition of field devices to the system
Manage maintenance support agreements
Provide other network-related technical support as directed by Operations Technology Division management or designee.
