Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assisting sheet extrusion operators.

Checks quality of the production line regularly and ensures correct packaging specifications are met.

Verifies equipment set-up during shift changes and changeovers.

Completes first piece checks for each changeover and ensures all paperwork is accurate.

Promotes safety awareness and compliance with safety policies among employees.

Reports defective equipment or safety hazards to relevant personnel.

Maintains cleanliness and organization in the work area throughout the shift.

Maximizes production rates while upholding product quality standards.

Assists operators as needed and fosters teamwork within the plant.

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to complete reports and forms associated with the position.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
