Responsibilities

Work alongside data scientists, application developers, and product managers to develop performant and intuitive data interfaces to power statistical/machine learning-based data features in high-visibility internal Studio Creative Production workflow applications.

Serve as a key thought partner for stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and our diverse set of team members regarding large/novel datasets and system architectures.

Develop end-to-end data solutions, from data sourcing and pipeline development to persistence architecture and data service development.

Engage with the Data Engineering and ML community, internal and external, to learn, to teach, and to contribute to building a great Netflix brand.

Required

Strong programming skills in Java and Python

Familiarity with distributed OLAP data stores like Druid or Pinot

Experience with developing data pipelines in distributed frameworks like Spark

Experience preparing and normalizing production media (text, images, video, etc.) for ML

4+ years of full-time work experience in one or more relevant SWE/Data Engineering roles

Preferred

Strong foundation in distributed system architecture and have worked with machine learning workloads, ideally in a multi-modal setting

Have worked with machine learning concepts, ideally including exposure to deep learning approaches like LLM’s

Beyond talented, curious, creative, and tenacious

Not bothered by ambiguity, find joy in finding patterns in complex environments and bringing order into chaos

Excellent communicator, capable of explaining complex technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences

Collaborative and thrive in fast-paced dynamic environments, contributing positively to the team and company culture
