Responsibilities

Assist ADAs in all aspects of investigations and trials.
Take notes on victim and witness interviews and proffers with defendants in IPSV cases.
Investigate cases: generate subpoenas; obtain evidence; review and analyze documents; conduct searches of online databases for probative information.
Compile and analyze discovery in cases.
Track, centralize, and organize unit data, records, and statistics.
Draft correspondence and legal documents.
Prepare exhibits and evidence for Grand Jury and trial.
Perform related administrative and clerical tasks.

Required

Level 1 - bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
Level 2 - bachelor's degree from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent.
Level 3 - bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

Preferred

Fluency in a foreign language (particularly Spanish, Russian, Mandarin or Cantonese) is helpful though not necessary.
Excellent organization, communication, writing, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to learn, update and edit existing proprietary applications and quickly learn and use various computer systems.
Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions, manage deadlines, keep track of ongoing assignments, and adapt to changes in workflow.
Comfort working in a team.
Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff, court representatives, law enforcement representatives and witnesses.
