Responsibilities

Develop skills and knowledge of ABS core business functions including Engineering Plan Review, Technical Plan Review, Research and Product Development, Operational Safety and Evaluation, Data Science, and Digital Services.

Provide engineering support through design review and analysis assignments under supervision.

Assist with detailed engineering review of plans for compliance.

Communicate workload status to team members.

Propose technical advice and new approaches to problems.

Assist in the development of business performance metrics.

Write and present technical papers and reports.

Collaborate with digital team and other departments.

Assist with data collection efforts for data quality improvement.

Required

Applicants must be working towards an engineering degree at an accredited school and have completed 50 semester hours towards that degree before the start of the internship.

Must be available to work a full internship term

Valid US Driver’s License required.

Basic engineering knowledge and proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD are preferred.

Must be a full-time student currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a BS, MS, or Ph.D. degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Civil Structures, Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Ocean/Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture

Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
