Responsibilities
Place numerous stories through persistence and creativity, identifying new targets and trying new approaches until the story lands.
Drive high-touch, daily client communications with the client leads: brainstorming, flagging concerns and problem-solving.
Conceptualize and drive new story angles and other media opportunities for clients, such as landing feature stories even when there is no news to announce.
Confidently communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, with varying levels of staff, clients, and the media.
Have existing relationships with reporters and a strong news sense.
Become a savvy and nimble student of the “news” and quickly identify new media opportunities and narratives to insert clients’ voices into the news cycle.
Adapt and work on multiple projects, prioritize work streams, and track progress across multiple teams.
Write short form and long form bylines on a range of thought-leadership topics.
Contribute to business development and growth efforts.
Be proactive, organized, and take ownership of projects and relationships, balancing multiple projects concurrently.
Coordinate across internal and external teams to deploy integrated services to meet clients’ goals.

Required
Has at least 4+ years of strategic communications experience: in-house, media, or journalism; PR agency experience preferred
Has real estate, design, architecture, development, engineering, travel and/or hospitality marketing or PR expertise
Strong storytelling skills with the ability to provide multiple examples of materials that clearly demonstrate these capabilities
Is resourceful. When given the opportunity, this person is quick to research, suggest solutions, and connect the dots without a ton of oversight
Versatile writer who is comfortable and well-versed in writing in an informal, conversational tone and addressing people more formally when necessary
Is a team player. You have the ability to work with a team to meet group objectives, pinch hit if someone is out of the office (know that the rest of the team will do the same for you!)
Strong attention to detail
Energetic, self-directed, and self-motivated
Is skilled in Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, etc), MuckRack, and Canva
Must be willing to travel for client and company obligations
Must be able to occasionally work night/weekend hours
