Responsibilities
Leads in gathering complex business requirements by defining the business problem and data needs with customers.
Guides the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions, including data visualization, transformation, or collection.
Collaborates with IT teams on analytic infrastructures, data engineering, and governance practices.
Applies data visualization processes to identify trends and patterns, ensuring usability and end-user experience.
Acts as a trusted advisor to drive business value through data visualization.
Provides thought leadership to influence data, information, and application architecture decisions.
Champions agile methodology and educates the team on standard processes.
Mentors and guides the internal team on business intelligence tools and techniques.
Prioritizes work assignments, influences Business Intelligence maturation, and stays updated on industry trends.
Ensures effective risk management in accordance with policies and procedures.

Required
Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or other business-related subject area; OR 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
8 years of data & analytics experience; OR 6 years of data & analytics experience and up to 2 years of dynamic functional business proven experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e. P&C, Bank, Finance, Marketing etc.) for a total of 8 years combined experience; OR Advanced degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science or other quantitative subject area and 6 years of experience in data/analytics or functional business experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e. P&C, Bank, Finance, Marketing, etc.)
3 years of direct and/or indirect management experience
Experience and expertise in the identification and implementation of innovative approaches to address complex business problems and solutions
Extensive experience developing business work that leverage business intelligence platforms, data management platforms, or SQL-based languages (Tableau, Business Objects, Snowflake, Hadoop, Netezza, NoSQL, ANSI SQL, or related)
Proven experienced ability to demonstrate or build business knowledge through important partnerships at the individual contributor, leadership, and EMG levels
Expert-level communication skills delivering tailored presentations to all levels of management
Demonstrated thought leadership in embedding intuitive storytelling within the business intelligence solutions and platforms including concise presentation of sophisticated technical details
Data and/or analytics subject matter expertise
Preferred
Knowledge of USAA Money Movement and member transaction data sources
Strong experience developing business deliverables that leverage business intelligence platforms using code writing /Python and SQL
4+ years of Anti-Money laundering (AML) experience with large financial institutions in the US
Solid (oral and written) communication with business partners/executive leadership, to provide effective reporting, planning, and training across team
Concise communication of complex concepts speaking publicly to all levels of management, both written and oral format
Strong organizational skills and the ability to develop roadmap plans to meet business objectives
