Responsibilities

Provides technical advice to leadership about collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating data and insights resulting from data analysis.

Conducts data science research with statistical and analytical tools to analyze complex sets of data.

Identifies relevant data, leverages new data collection processes, and performs all phases of the systems development life-cycle.

Provides technical advice in the development and analysis of pilot initiatives and applications.

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National

Background and suitability investigation required

At least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level

Experience in preparing written documents and/or presentations of data analysis findings for diverse audiences

Experience in conducting analyses on large datasets using a programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SQL, Stata, etc.)

Experience in developing improvement processes impacting data quality, performance enhancements, and/or user experience

Experience in programmatically transforming, combining, and cleaning data in preparation for analysis; documenting data definitions and issues for future reference

Degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position

Transcripts are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement

Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as specified

Completion of the occupational questionnaire

Successful completion of a practical assessment if selected for an interview
