Responsibilities

Plan, conduct, and direct the evaluation and certification of property loss prevention products in the area of building materials and assemblies
Increase technical knowledge and provide solutions for property loss prevention and mitigation
Develop proposals, manage projects, supervise tests, document results, prepare reports, and perform other tasks related to product certification
Make presentations and represent the company at trade associations
Travel occasionally for customer consultations, technical conferences, and tests at facilities

Required

BS in technical area + 3 years’ experience or MS in technical area
Knowledge of, and experience with, building materials, components, and assemblies
Demonstrated project management skills
Results analysis skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
Outstanding relationship management skills
Working product evaluation environment involves fire, smoke, heat, and the use of adhesives and binders

Preferred

Technical degree in civil, structural, environmental, or mechanical engineering
Background in statics and/or material properties
Professional registration and/or knowledge of FM Global Property Loss Prevention Datasheets
Knowledge of FM Approvals Standards
