Responsibilities
Plan, conduct, and direct the evaluation and certification of property loss prevention products in the area of building materials and assemblies.
Increase technical knowledge and provide solutions for property loss prevention and mitigation.
Develop proposals, manage projects, supervise tests, document results, and prepare written reports for third-party product certification.
Make presentations and represent the company to trade associations.
Work in both office and laboratory environments.
Travel overnight less than 20% of the time for customer consultations, technical conferences, and test monitoring.

Required
BS in technical area + 3 years’ experience or MS in technical area
Knowledge of, and experience with, building materials, components, and assemblies
Demonstrated project management skills
Results analysis skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
Outstanding relationship management skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent communication skills (both orally and in writing)
Active listening skills
Effective speaking skills
Ability to work effectively as a strong and supportive member of a team
Demonstrated skill in organizing work, setting priorities, and planning
Working product evaluation environment involves fire, smoke, heat, and the use of adhesives and binders
Preferred
Technical degree in civil, structural, environmental, or mechanical engineering
Background in statics and/or material properties
Professional registration and/or knowledge of FM Global Property Loss Prevention Datasheets
Knowledge of FM Approvals Standards
Overnight travel, typically less than 20%
Making presentations and providing representation to trade associations
