Responsibilities

Conduct independent research to understand and deliver solutions to technical problems in particle surface modification, polymer/particle interactions, and structure/property relationships.

Employ a thorough scientific approach including literature understanding, mechanistic thinking, hypothesis setting, experimentation, analysis, and reporting.

Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of work for projects to meet objectives and timelines.

Communicate effectively through written reports and team presentations.

Demonstrate a high level of intellectual property awareness to protect new learnings as patents and trade secrets.

Share knowledge and information proactively with others to drive technical solutions.

Organize and communicate data to technical groups clearly.

Follow and comply with all SH&E procedures, standards, and regulations with a safety mindset.

Strive for excellence in sustainability and safety practices.

Required

Expertise in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field – PhD, or MS with 4+ years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience required

Product and application development experience in polymeric systems, preferably in the areas of rubber formulation, inkjet chemistry, coatings, or batteries

Intellectual curiosity: Seeking to know and understand Cabot’s technology more broadly, and how to leverage the broad organizational knowledge to advance project goals.

Preferred

Experience with project management and experimental design (statistical or via machine learning techniques) preferred.
