Responsibilities

Build annual plans and budgets for biology work aligned with project scope and timelines.

Set biology work objectives aligned with project milestones and build protocols to meet objectives.

Work with Outcomes Research and Marketing to ensure protocols generate data to support target value propositions and generate data for economic benefits calculations.

Implement and monitor trial programs in collaboration with internal laboratories, external CROs, and University resources.

Analyze, summarize, and present data; make recommendations based on data to expand and support the business.

Develop technical material for new products to support internal training and commercialization.

Interface with Technical Sales Representatives to ensure successful technical handover of new products in preparation for commercialization.

Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to enhance AgroFresh's position within the industry.

Plan and implement activities with Key Opinion Leaders to support development projects and existing commercial products aligned with priorities.

Monitor research areas and identify new growth opportunities.

Required

Advanced degree or relevant experience in a relevant scientific discipline, such as plant physiology, horticulture, agronomy, or plant pathology – experience in specialty crops. MS or PhD preferred.

5+ years of experience preferred

Ability to travel within the assigned region and sometimes internationally

Prior project management experience with a PM certification a plus

Knowledge of California and Southwest USA crops – their production, storage, packaging and transport

Understanding of efficacy data requirements for California DPT submission and demonstrated ability to plan, execute and summarize data from efficacy trials for submissions

Experience in the design, conduct and analysis of pre and post-harvest plant growth regulator as well as post-harvest fungicide trials

Prior successful experience in developing new agricultural products or product extensions in the region of interest

Proven ability to develop, maintain and leverage relationships with KOL’s and customers

Broad understanding of official efficacy requirements for registration of crop protection products

Strong data analysis skills - knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis - ARM (Agricultural Research Manager) experience highly desirable

Prior experience developing, contributing to and/or articulating compelling value propositions including using data to illustrate economic benefits

Strong understanding of the current trends and developments in the space, both within KOL organizations and competitors

Strong interpersonal skills – good at influencing and networking

Strong communication and presentation skills

Strong commercial acumen and experience working with commercial organizations

High level of safety and ethical integrity

Valid US driver's license and clean driving record is required
